About
After a 3 1/2 yr stint in San Francisco, Mama Jen lives in Madison with her husband, 4 yr old daughter, 10month old son, and 7 1/2 yr old dog son. She is a self-proclaimed product junkie, spa treatment/beauty product snob and film lover/occasional maker. She loves writing this blog with her good friend and partner in web crime, Kate. She is passionate about organics, trying to go “green,” finding the next hot restaurant, and red wine. She has been known to kick gossip mags under the couch like a dirty secret before guests arrive… Contact at MamaJen@momappeal.comMama Kate has been a professional award-winning magazine editor and writer for the past 15 years. Currently she’s on “break” (can you really call it that when kids 19 months apart are involved?) as a freelancer and an at-home mom to daughter Shane, 4, and son Levi, 2. She’s psyched about flexing her editorial muscles and having some fun with MomAppeal. A happy modernist at heart (ahhh, Dwell magazine, now that showcases her ideal kind of living … ), she’s taken with functional and sustainable design that’s hip and clever and makes life easier, or at least a little more interesting, and she digs styles with retro flair (that is, except for anything that has to do with the ’80s bad fashion … ). When she’s not crazed at home, Mama Kate and husband, Tim, love to continue their old (read: pre-kid) ways and travel (with or without the tinies in tow) and seek out good eats and unique culinary experiences. She loves that daughter Shane is as smitten with cooking shows and puttering with recipes as she is, and hopes to be grooming another foodie in the family. Sleeping in’s tops on the list, too, but these days doesn’t get much billing.
Mama Jess lives in Madison, WI with her husband and 4 year old son. Primarily, she is a stay at home mom, but also runs two businesses from home in addition to writing and editing MomAppeal with her good mom friend and partner in antics, Jenny. In her spare time, Jess likes to knit, organize social outings, and read gossip blogs. She is known for her over the top knowledge of pop culture, and has absolutely no talent for cleaning. ( Mama Jess began MomAppeal with Mama Jen but is busy with her job and family, so she now relaxes and reads MomAppeal when she has the chance!)**MomAppeal was born when two mom friends wanted to take their gift for gab, gossip, and style live. MomAppeal is a stamp of approval, a rave review, a “plug” for products, concepts, or people. Rest assured, MomAppeal will keep you in the mommy/daddy/granny/gramps/nanny/kiddo “know”.Contact MomAppeal at:info@momappeal.comMomAppeal was born when two mom friends wanted to take their gift for gab, gossip, and style live. Tea is hot (and cold)! I recently opened a mom owned business in Madison called Cha Cha Tea selling organic + fair trade loose teas. As a mom of a 4 year old I am trying to balance motherhood with business on a daily basis. I would love to share more about Cha Cha Tea.
Call, write or come over for a tasting soon.

Hi. I work for the Department of Children and Families and was one of the persons that helped put together the Licensed Child Care Search website. We really appreciate your plug of our new website (posted July 9, 2008) and certainly agree that the website provides valuable information to persons in search of child care. We are trying to get the word out to all Wisconsin residents that the website exists. We are also designing ways to get feedback from the public so that we can make the website as helpful as possible. We were wondering whether you received any feedback about our website after you posted your link??

Just had to share with you a wonderful McFarland mom. Though we don’t have an official “organized” group. Heather Flemming has been organizing mom’s night outings for any McFarland mom who wants to join. We’ve gone on scavenger hunts, had progressive dinners and on Dec. 15th will be having a Red Kettle bell ringing party at our local Pick N’ Save. Watch for us on WISC-TV that night. Our moms are signed up for 4 hours but working together will take 15 min shifts — alternating going inside for hot chocolate and board games. She’s creative, fun and a real friend. At each outing she pairs moms together who may not know each other well, so we are always making new friends or learning more about moms we knew, but not very well. Moms involved have kids from newborn through middle school. We love her. If you ever need ideas to give other moms — she’s the one with’em.
